Claudette

The calendar girl icon "Claudette" is the creation of renowned artist Baron Jerry Von Lind. The Akron Cigar Club extends its gratitude and appreciation to the amicable Baron Von Lind for permitting our club to display this wonderful work of art. The original painting was purchased by Darryl Bingham, owner of the Knight's cigar store in Phoenix, AZ where it remains on display to this day.

Born in Duluth Minnesota in 1937 Jerry Lind has devoted his life to perfecting his artistic talents. He has done work for Brown and Bigelow calendars in the early 60's along side other accomplished pinup artists such as Edwin Runci. Lind's artistic endeavors go way beyond classic pinups. Commissioned portraits include Elizabeth Taylor and Ronald Reagan. In August of 2002, 11 official postage stamps were issued by the Republic of Benin, West Africa in honor of the Baron's art.

Classical art connoisseurs will recognize that Baron von Lind's inspiration is from one of histories best at painting the human form, the style and work of the 19th Century French artisan William Bouguereau. Like Bouguereau, the Baron's art "captures the subtle nuances of personality and mood".
